  • Lochie Springfield | Director

    Registered Nurse, BSP, GCertCritCareNurs, BNurs, DipNurs, MACMHN

    Lochie is the Founder and Director of Guiding Light Care, bringing extensive experience across Emergency, Mental Health, and Aged Care Nursing. As an NDIS-registered Behaviour Support Practitioner, he is passionate about person-centred, nurse-led care that empowers individuals to live with dignity and independence. One of his mottos is “Recovery through relationships”, putting rapport as the centre of his practice. Lochie is currently completing dual Masters degrees in Mental Health and Aged Care, with a goal of becoming an endorsed Nurse Practitioner in the coming years.

  • Alex Hall | Clinical Nurse Consultant

    Registered Nurse, CNE, GCertCritCareNurs, BNurs

    Alex is the clinical education and training lead for Guiding Light Care. He brings a wealth of experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator and After Hours Manager for large public hospitals in the Hunter New England Local Health District.

  • Ruth Pullar | Community Engagement Manager

    Ruth brings an array of experience to our team. 

    Her lived experience with ADHD and her own + her family's mental health conditions, means she has an abundance of empathy and understanding. 

    Ruth studied Social Work for 3 years, has worked in the pharmacy field for 10 years, and managed tenancies in the NSW Department of Housing. 

    Ruth has a 3 year old and a newborn at home, and enjoys spending time with them and her husband.

    Cooper | Support Worker

    Cooper is a kind, compassionate and caring member of our support work team, who values adaptiveness, active listening and brings lived family experience of Autism through raising his younger brother. He says he is grateful for the opportunity to work with those living with a disability, and enjoys calisthenics, footy and a good movie in his spare time. 

  • Mikayla - Disability Support Worker

    Mikayla | Support Worker

    Mikayla is a calm, gentle, and person-centred Support Worker who takes pride in creating a safe and respectful space where individuals feel heard and supported. She brings strong experience in personal care, community access, and supporting people with sensory needs, Autism, and complex behaviours, including non-verbal individuals. Known for her patience and compassion, Mikayla believes in empowering people at their own pace and building genuine, trusting relationships through consistency and empathy. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, exploring nature, and relaxing with music, colouring, and spending time with her puppy.

  • Ryan | Support Worker

    Ryan is a dedicated and compassionate support worker with 4 years of experience in providing personal care tailored to individual’s needs.

    He is known for a calm and understanding approach, and has a strong ability to build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds. Ryan is committed to supporting independence, and is always aiming to make a positive difference in someone's day.

    When he’s not at work, he enjoys working on cars, playing music and sitting back playing Xbox games with his two daughters.

  • Tejas "TJ" | Support Worker

    Tejas is passionate about helping others to live happy, fulfilling lives.

    He has some experience in disability support and loves making a positive difference in people’s day-to-day lives. He’s known for being friendly, kind, and compassionate, and is always aiming to build genuine connections with the people he supports.

    His goal as a support worker is to create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment where everyone feels respected and valued.

    When he’s not working, TJ enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching sport.

  • Kamal | Support Worker

    Kamal has valuable experience working in disability support and is passionate about helping others live happy, independent, and fulfilling lives.
    Growing up with a mother who has a disability, Kamal developed a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by people with disabilities from an early age.
    Known for being kind, patient, and always willing to help, Kamal takes pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and positive environment where everyone feels respected and valued.
    He enjoys building genuine connections and making a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives.

    When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones, watching sports, and staying active in his community.

  • Ella | Support Worker

    Ella is originally from Finland.

    She has got a background in Social Services and experience working in mental health, drug and alcohol support, and child protection. She really enjoys helping people feel supported and confident in their everyday lives.

    Ella is an easy-going, caring, and reliable person who loves getting to know people and having a good chat. People often describe her as warm, calm and someone who makes them feel comfortable, seen and heard. 

    When with Ella, you can do all sorts of things — go for walks, grab a coffee, cook together, do some exercise, or just relax and chat. She’s always happy to listen and help make the day a bit brighter.

    In her spare time, she enjoys keeping active with CrossFit, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places around Australia.

  • Avrin | Support Worker

    Avrin grew up in India and moved to Australia after jer wedding in 2023.

    She loves gardening—especially looking after indoor plants—and also enjoys interior designing. Avrin likes keeping her surroundings tidy and organised because she believes a clean, calm space can really improve our mood and help us feel more relaxed and in control.

    Avrin loves dancing, listening to music from all over the world, and travelling whenever she gets the chance. These hobbies keep jer creative, positive, and grounded.

    She has studied social work and psychology, and has completed her Certificate IV in Disability. She has worked as a Disability Support Worker here in Australia and has supported people in hospital and mental health settings back in India. Building genuine connections is really important to her, and Avrin aims to be someone people can trust, feel comfortable with, and talk openly to.

    Avrin is really looking forward to meeting you and learning about what you enjoy, what helps you feel comfortable, and what makes your day feel a little brighter.

  • Bec | Support Worker

    Bec brings many years of lived experience, having navigated childhood trauma and her own mental health journey. These challenges have shaped her resilience, empathy, and understanding in a meaningful way.

    She is also a proud mum of six beautiful children. Each of them has taught her loving, hard, and at times heartbreaking lessons — especially about unconditional love and the importance of healthy boundaries. These lessons continue to guide the person she is today.

    In her spare time, Bec loves spending time with her family, painting, and listening to music — all things that bring her peace and joy.

  • Louise | Support Worker

    Louise is an early childhood and primary teacher.

    Across her experiences, she has taught within a range of contexts: early childhood to high school, afterschool care, French teaching, Drama teaching and tutoring. 

    Louise has a passion for all things theatre, having taught drama and continuing to be a part of stage shows for adults and children.

    She loves engaging in play and being creative with those around her. Support work and teaching is what she was born to do and she says she is very excited to meet you!
